Gunstock Acres Trust Beach Rules

NOTE: ACCESS TO THE BEACH WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED WITH A VALID PASS TO ACTIVATE THE ELECTRONIC GATE. TWO PASSES ARE ISSUED TO EACH LOT/HOME OWNER AND WILL RENEW EACH YEAR WITH PAID DUES. REPLACEMENT PASSES FOR LOST/STOLEN PASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR $25 PER PASS.

The following rules apply to GACPT members and guests using the beach:

  • No dogs allowed anytime.
  • No ball or frisbee playing on the beach.
  • No jumping or diving off the docks.
  • No jumping off stone walls.
  • Keep stairs clear at all times.
  • No reserving tables…once your lunch/picnic is finished, please clean the table so others can use it.
  • If a member or guest is planning a gathering of more than 15 people, please contact one of the trustees at least two weeks in advance.
  • Beach trash receptacles and dumpster are for beach trash only. Depositing trash from your residence is strictly prohibited.
  • Please DO NOT feed the ducks, even though parents may find it a charming activity with one’s kids, it fosters the persistent congregation of ducks, and thus promotes the infestation of schistosomes, a parasitic flat-worm.  If the parasite comes into contact with a swimmer, it can burrow into the skin causing an allergic reaction and rash.
  • Above all, use common courtesy and common sense. Each member is a part of the “supervisory committee” and should feel free to speak to anyone not complying with the rules.

Large Group Usage at the Beach

Any GACPT member wishing to have a large group at the beach, defined as a group of 15 or more family members or friends, should call one of the trustees at least two weeks in advance to reserve the date and to provide the name of the person who will responsible for the group. Cars for large groups should be parked in the upper level of the beach. Members of large groups are expected to be respectful of the other members when it comes to use of picnic tables, cooking grills, dock space, etc.

Company Picnics, etc.

Commercial use of the beach, such as for company picnics or gatherings, is not permitted without approval of the trustees, which approval will normally not be granted within the normal summer season.

Unruly Behavior

It goes without saying, unruly and disrespectful behavior at the beach is unacceptable and prohibited. Members should be aware that anyone who is asked to reduce or constrain their behavior that continues to be a problem will run the risk of losing their beach privileges in that the beach pass will be suspended for a time certain, as determined by the trustees.

Lost Passes

Members whose electronic passes are lost or destroyed can obtain a replacement pass by submitting a request in writing to Watchovaya Property Management, specifying the name and address of the pass holder and the number of the lost or destroyed pass. There will be a $25 fee for each replacement pass. Only two passes are permitted for each lot.
